Every schedule tells you where the events are. None of them tell you where to stand for free, when the highway locks up, or which kitchen will still seat you at nine at night without a reservation. This guide is the part locals know and visitors have to learn the hard way.
It is a web page rather than a file, so it gets corrected during the week when a road closes or a lot fills up. You keep the link.

Where to watch for free
Most of the best viewing during Car Week costs nothing and happens on public roads. This section maps the pullouts, the grades and the hotel lots where cars stage in the morning, with the hours each one is worth standing at.
When the roads seize up
Highway 68 and Highway 1 fail at predictable times on predictable days. This is an hour by hour picture of when to leave, which direction to avoid and which back routes still move once the main ones stop.
Parking that will not get you towed
Every venue has lots that look fine and are not. This lists what is legal, what is patrolled and what costs money, organised by where you are trying to end up.
Eating without a reservation
The whole Peninsula books out months ahead for this week. This section covers which kitchens hold tables for walk ins, where the bar seating is genuinely first come, and the hour late in the evening when tables open up again.
Where to photograph cars
Rolling shots need a road with a curve, a shoulder and the right light at the right hour. These are the locations that give you all three, with the time of day each one works.
Corrections as the week runs
Road closures and schedule changes get posted to the same page each morning, so what you are reading on Thursday is what is actually true on Thursday.

What exactly do I receive?
You receive a link to a private web page. It is not a file to download and it is not a printed book. The page is built for reading on a phone while you are standing somewhere, and it stays available to you through August 16.
How often is it updated?
Corrections are posted each morning during Car Week, covering road closures, lots that have filled and any schedule changes worth knowing. Everything else in the guide is written before the week begins and does not change.
Is this an official event schedule?
No. It is an independent guide and it is not affiliated with any event, organiser or venue. Event times come from the organisers themselves, and you should confirm anything time critical with them directly.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. If the guide is not useful to you, reply to your receipt within seven days and you will be refunded in full. There is no form to fill out.
Who wrote it?
Whalers Way is run from the Monterey Peninsula by someone who grew up here and has worked in food and beverage on the Peninsula for close to seven years. The restaurant section in particular comes from that work rather than from research.
